Therese M. Hough
Therese M. Hough's practice focuses on complex commercial and insurance defense litigation before federal and state trial and appellate courts in both New York and New Jersey, on behalf of insurance carriers and corporations. Therese has specific expertise in matters involving construction accidents in both New York and New Jersey, as well as construction defect litigation and insurance coverage negotiations.
Ms. Hough is the Chairman of the Township of Chatham, Zoning Board of Adjustment. In that capacity, she has interacted with numerous engineering and design professionals, which has enhanced her understanding of the building and construction trade. Ms. Hough has represented applicants before local Zoning and Planning Boards, and has also served as substitute Planning Board Attorney for the Borough of West Paterson. She was associated for over ten (10) years with two large regional law firms in New York City, before pursuing her practice in New Jersey, first with the environmental litigation firm of Knox, Naughton, Kott, Fraser & Krauss, and then with MLCO.
Ms. Hough's most recent decisions include
Chirichella v. Eagle Westbrook Inc. PAS-L-4990-10, which granted summary judgment to a home builder on Consumer Fraud Claims, as well as dismissal of plaintiffs claim on Spoliation of Evidence grounds.
